Lions Club Makes Bench Donations

Lafayette Hospital + Clinics and the Lafayette Hospital + Clinics Foundation are proud to recognize the Shullsburg Lions Club for their generous contribution to the Capital Campaign. As part of their support for the new facility, the Shullsburg Lions Club has donated a custom-logoed bench, now located at the entrance of the Emergency Department.

Doug Woodworth, President of the Shullsburg Lions Club, shared the club’s motivation behind the donation: “We wanted to support the new facility with a gift that everyone can use. We are very happy that the bench will be located at the Emergency Department entrance, giving guests the opportunity for some outdoor privacy or a break from whatever situation they are facing. Our club really liked the idea that our donation would always share our name and what community partnerships mean to us.”

The Shullsburg Lions Club, a proud member of Lions International, has been serving the Shullsburg community since 1947. The club is well known for its active participation in local events such as the July 4th Celebration, Cheese Fest, Farmers Markets, and their annual 50/50 Raffle — all of which support their mission of community service.

Marie Wamsley, CEO, shared, “The donation of this warm and welcoming bench by the Shullsburg Lions Club is a thoughtful addition for our patients and families. We have had a long-standing relationship with our local Lions Clubs and appreciate all of their continued support.”

The bench was created by local sign designer, Jami Boss, owner of Boss Signs and was graciously accepted by staff and has already begun to serve visitors and patients at the hospital.
