Lafayette Hospital + Clinics (LHC), is a 25-bed critical access, general hospital offering emergency + Urgent Care, primary care and specialty care clinics, and has provided Lafayette County’s health care needs since 1952.

In 2025, LHC relocated to 211 Bev Anderson Dr., Darlington, WI and rebranded. Lafayette Hospital + Clinics is our new name, with a new state-of-the-art facility that is more convenient for our patients and matches our expert providers. The community support has been overwhelmingly positive!

The continued dedication and commitment to excellence by our staff has earned us 2025 Overall- Top 20 Critical Access Hospital recognition. This is a recognition that we don’t take lightly and are honored to share with the community! For a small town, Lafayette Hospital + Clinics has high-quality providers and staff, and an extensive variety of medical specialties. Something that makes LHC stand out is our staff, they are your family, friends and neighbors! They are care for you and care about you!

LHC Primary Care Clinic locations include Darlington, Argyle, + Shullsburg. Open Monday-Friday with evening hours and same day appointments available. 

LHC Specialty Clinic providers offer: Audiology, Cardiology, ENT (Ear, Nose, & Throat), Neurology/Pain Management, General Surgery, OB/Gyn-Women’s Health, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Urology.

Emergency Department is open 24/7.

Urgent Care hours are available Monday–Friday 7 – 9 am, Friday 5 – 10 pm, weekends and holidays 9 am – 10 pm.

Emergency Room
Lafayette Hospital + Clinics Emergency Department is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone who needs emergency treatment. Our Emergency Department has earned classification as a Level IV Trauma Center, and is staffed with an in-house physician and registered nurse around-the-clock.

The Imaging Department provides a wide range of imaging services to meet your needs. Our registered Imaging Technologists including our Physician Radiologists are available anytime to provide great, quality care.

Lafayette Hospital + Clinics Med-Surg Unit is a 25-bed critical access hospital that provides medical, surgical and observation services to the rural community of Lafayette County and surrounding areas.

Rehabilitation
Lafayette Hospital + Clinics provides rehabilitation services to people of all ages and diagnoses. The department is staffed by:

Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Cardiopulmonary Therapists.

Laboratory Services
Our laboratory department cares for you with innovative services ranking in the highest quality and safety standards. We have a skilled, experienced, knowledgeable staff to ensure you receive the best possible care.

Our Laboratory Services includes our high complexity, hospital-based laboratory, as well as our waived clinic-based laboratories located in the four Primary Care Clinics: Darlington, Shullsburg and Argyle.

Our counselors enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds. They help people manage issues like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, trauma, dementia, borderline personality disorder, and loss/grief.

Swing Bed Services
Swing Bed is an alternative to a skilled nursing facility stay for post-hospital rehabilitation. Swing Bed services are unique to Critical Access Hospitals and are covered by Medicare and most insurance companies with a three day or longer hospitalization. Swing Bed allows patients a little extra time to regain strength after an illness, surgery or injury in a peaceful environment close to home.  Our facility features luxurious, spacious private rooms designed to promote healing and peace of mind. With serene interiors, modern amenities, and personalized attention, every detail is crafted to support your wellness journey.
