Lafayette Hospital + Clinics Med-Surg Unit is a 25-bed critical access hospital that provides medical, surgical and observation services to the rural community of Lafayette County and surrounding areas. The staff is committed to individualized care, including, helping to arrange needed services when patients are discharged. Registered Nurses (RN) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) provide the highest quality patient-focused nursing care available.

Services & Tests Available

  • Observation Services: Observation care is a well-defined set of specific, clinically appropriate services, which include ongoing short-term treatment, assessment, and reassessment before medical staff members can decide whether a patient needs additional treatment as an inpatient or can be discharged from the hospital.
  • Inpatient Services: Patients that are admitted to the hospital for greater than 1 day and require ongoing medical treatment in order to get back to their prior level of living are considered Inpatients. This service code is based off of diagnosis, comorbidities and average length of stay.
